Shaft completed and mining works started!

After successful completion of the 25 m deep shafts, the first tubes of the 1.2 km high voltage connection tunnel have been installed. The pipe-jacking excavation is performed by means of an Herrenknecht AVN machine with a diameter of 3 m.

The tunnel runs in water bearing soft ground and will underpass major infrastructures at low overburden. Control of the face pressure and proper lubrication of the tubes represent the key factors for the success of the mining operations.
