Pini Group strengthens its geology sector with the arrival of Jean-Pierre Hürzeler

Pini Group, one of Europe's Construction Management and Underground works leader, can now count on experienced geologist Jean-Pierre Hürzeler to extend its services in the geology domain.

In the past, Jean-Pierre was responsible for planning, construction supervision, and digitization in the geology sector for Amberg Engineering AG.
He worked as a site geologist for the Gotthard and Ceneri base tunnels and as a project geologist for Métro Paris and the A9 Riedberg Tunnel in Valais. Since 2004 he has also been working with the Federal Office of Topography Swisstopo.

He has extensive knowledge in the field of 3D geological modeling and in the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). During his work as a project geologist, he collaborated in the development of processes for the implementation of 3D geological and GIS data into BIM in order to create interdisciplinary coordination models to facilitate the design and construction of underground structures.

Skills: senior specialist in underground construction (TBM, conventional excavation, MUL), experience in railway, road, and metro tunnel construction as well as inclined tunnels; subgrade modeling; natural hazards (rockfall and large scale rock movements); responsible and coordinator in 3D geology, GIS and BIM.

Language skills: German, French, Italian, and English.
