The planning work of the second Gotthard tunnel was confirmed by ASTRA and we started the project shortly before the holidays.

Under the leadership of Pini Swiss Lugano, the "Airö" consortium is planning the reorganisation of the Airolo junction at the southern portal of the tunnel. This includes, among other, covering the motorway at the level of the village of Airolo, which will better protect the site from noise pollution and significantly enhance the valley floor by creating a green belt.
