Pini Group acquires S.E.P.I., reinforcing its presence in Italy

Trento, February 2022 - Pini Group, the Swiss engineering company with over 70 years of experience in the local and international market, has acquired100% of  S.E.P.I.’s shares, a historic company based in Trento, operating in the civil engineering industry since the fifties, with expertise in the design of large infrastructure projects, specifically, roads, highways and railways.
 

Through this acquisition PINI group is continuing to deliver on its growth-plan of solidifying and developing the Italian market, and guaranteeing an increasingly structured local presence, close to its projects and clients.
 

Today, Italy represents the second biggest market for the Group, which in 2015 opened its first Italian branch in Como. PINI Group’s spirit and dedication to its clients has led to its continued development in the Italian market, with the recent additional presence in Rome and Trento, with more than 70 high-profile technical employees, working on key national civil engineering projects. Notably, the new RFI Giampilieri-Taormina-Fiumefreddo routes (wherein 45 km mainly running underground), the Fortezza-Ponte Gardena line and the Brescia-Verona high-speed line (CEPAV2 Consortium), as well as the construction management activities for the Brenner Base Tunnel (BBT) and the Lyon-Turin line (TELT).

The presence in Trentino will place the company in a strategic position on the Italy-Northern Europe axis.

Amongst many of S.E.P.I.’s  infrastructure projects, a non-exhaustive list of a few complex and challenging ones are: the Brenner highway, the Piacenza-Cremona-Brescia highway, the third lane of the Brescia-Padova highway, the new Fortezza-Verona high-capacity railway line, the Brenner base tunnel for the railway link between Innsbruck and Fortezza, road and highway tracks in Australia, Nigeria, Kenya, Ecuador, ex-Yugoslavia, several ring roads and bypasses in northern Italy. Recently, they undertook the detailed design of a section of the civil works within the Frejus highway tunnel project, on the Italian side.
