JLCM joins Pini Group

A new branch in Lisbon

Pini Group has acquired 100% of JLCM’s shares to consolidate the presence in the global market


Lisbon, February 2022Pini Group has acquired 100% of JLCM’s shares, a renowned Lisbon based practice operating in the civil engineering sector since the fifties. JCLM's expertise is notable for the design of major infrastructures, specifically, structures and viaducts.

With this acquisition PINI Group continue to consolidate and develop its presence in the global market, ensuring local presence in close proximity to its projects and partners.

The successful collaboration between Pini Group and JLCM, on an international and national scale and to include the development of preliminary studies for the extension of the Lisbon Metro's Red line, demonstrates the potential synergies between the two businesses.

JLCM's Portuguese engineering excellence, known worldwide for the design of complex infrastructure, perfectly complements the multidisciplinary nature of the Pini Group, a European leader in the design of infrastructure – in particular underground. 

JLCM will be offering an increasingly digital and multidisciplinary service, meanwhile the merge will afford access to new markets and to the development of new skills.

This alliance will allow the Group to mark its presence in the Iberian peninsula and provides a strategic link to the Group new markets in Latin America and Africa.

Amongst many of JLCM’s projects: several major viaducts in Portugal, including the Marao viaducts 1, 3 and 12; several projects around the world, such as the Bay La Sun Bridge and the Sea Court Bridge in Saudi Arabia; the Friendship Bridge in Macao and the Guadiana Bridge in Spain. Also in Portugal the Terminal XXI in the Port of Sines and the Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon. The company is also active in Peru, Senegal, Algeria, Nigeria, Italy, the United States, China, Switzerland and France.
